Counseling and Forensic Services Inc formed in 2001 to serve youth and adults. Our specialty includes working with court-ordered youth and adults in need of anger management, substance abuse, sex offender treatment, individuals, families, and couples in need of intensive and solution-focused therapy. Our practitioners are licensed with specialties in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and certified in Trauma Based Therapy.

CFS offers assessments and psychological evaluations for adults and children. Our goal is to offer professional and respectful therapy for all clients, working toward a goal to complete the required courses in order to move on with life.

Our Standards

A specialty of CFS is our expertise in sex offender evaluations and group treatments. CFS works closely and collaboratively with probation, social services, and attorneys to match their clients with the best resources available.

Our therapists are licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia or are under supervision for licensure and are trained in family systems, motivational enhancement, dialectical-behavioral, cognitive-behavioral, relapse prevention, and solution-focused therapies. All our clinicians adhere to the ethical guidelines set forth by their individual professional organizations.

Greetings,

Thanks for exploring our website.  We are excited to let you know about all the services we provide at Counseling and Forensic Services.  CFS was formed in 2001 to offer an array of mental health services.

All of our therapists and resident counselors are passionate about providing the state of the art services utilizing family systems, solution focused, and cognitive behavioral therapy.  We work with individuals, couples and families along with an array of services for children, adolescents and adults.  We have specialists in the area of autism, substance abuse, dual diagnosis and sexual issues.  CFS offers couples in conflict counseling and we are specialists in the delivery of relationship problems.

A separate division at CFS is the delivery of services for those court involved or court ordered.  We have groups for Domestic Violence, Batterer Intervention (BIP), Substance Abuse, and Anger Management. 

Counselors at CFS are licensed as Professional Counselors, Social Workers and Marriage and Family Therapists.  Post master’s’ residents are also available. 

CFS is also offering substance abuse informational seminars for parents and interested adults done by a specialist in the area as well as Gottman influenced seminars for couples.
